The Cambridgeshire branch you could say was formed in 1974 when the Constabulary was created, however, the IPA has been in the Constabulary well before that starting in 1957 with the creation of the Peterborough branch.  This branch together with Huntingdon and Cambridge has now amalgamated to form the one branch for Cambridgeshire.

The branch has a wide range of membership, boasting a handful having been with the IPA for 50 plus years or more.

Cambridgeshire itself is a mix of cities and rural Market towns.

We have many tourist attractions, Cambridge has the universities, Peterborough and Ely both have Cathedrals, Huntingdonshire is the home of Oliver Cromwell, and Fenland the birth place of Thomas Clarkson and Octavia Hill. Part of the imperial war museum is based at Duxford.

All these places have played host to branch visits over the past years and together with our branch Sunday lunches helps to provide a meeting place for members.

We have twinning links - Wolfsburg, Germany,  Bielsko-Biala and Silesian region  in Poland together with  Mittelkarten in Austria.
