York Branch is one of the earliest branches in the organisation, it's first meeting being held on Thursday 2nd May 1963. Some of the earliest meetings of the International Police Association were held in York with our Officer Stan Bell having been one of the founding members. Keith Meadley our Vice Chair was also present.

We have been fortunate to hold a number of National and Regional Meetings in the City and in the past have held a number of Friendship Weeks, most recently our support of the yearly York Races Day has become iconic to our branch.

It is hoped that international members who visit the City will 'come and join us' and that this venture into the present will boost the knowledge of the Association and encourage more people to visit our beautiful city and link in with their colleagues and friends world wide in the true spirit of Service Through Friendship.
