Scarborough Branch has planned a visit to the International Bomber Command Centre (IBCC), Canwick Avenue, Lincoln, LN4 2HQ and invites members from across Section UK to join them.

This modern World-Class facility acknowledges the efforts of Bomber Command during WWII. The Centre also covers the stories of those who suffered as a result of the bombing campaigns and those whose survival was guaranteed by the humanitarian operations of Bomber Command.

The IBCC has been designed to be accessible for all ages and all levels of mobility and impairment. The event will start at 11.00am with an included guided tour of the International Peace Gardens, the Walls of Names and the Memorial Spire before entry into the Exhibition.

The visit provides an opportunity to see the IPA Stone of Remembrance placed by members of Section UK in memory of colleagues that were killed while serving in Bomber Command.

An adult day pass is £9.75 (£8.75 if purchased in advance on-line) however, the cost per person, as part of a group of 20 or more, is only £7.75 which can be paid on the day. There will also be a charge of £3.00 per car for parking so transport should be coordinated wherever possible.

There is a reasonably priced on-site café and we have been asked to pre-order meals as necessary. A menu can be provided on request.
