Dear all,
The Lincoln Award is, in essence, a financial bursary to support UK members participate in a personal or professional development course/seminar/lecture. Historically this has been offered as a 'runner-up' award for those UK members unsuccessful in applying for the International IPA Arthur Troop Scholarship (ATS).
Section UK have decided to separate the Lincoln Award from the ATS and offer the opportunity to apply for financial support towards their personal and professional development twice a year, up to the value of £1000.
The future application process will run from 1st January to 30th June, with applicants informed of the outcome in July, and 1st July to 31st December, with applicants informed of the outcome in January. A form will be available on the Section UK website for the award in early January 2021.
Meanwhile, we are now seeking applicants for the Lincoln Award to be awarded in January 2021. Please apply via email to Vice President (Professional) Martin Turner by 31st December 2020 - vpturner@ipa-uk.org - with the following information;
- What you will use the Lincoln Award for and why?
- Your budget (course costs, travel expenses and so on)?
- Benefits to your personal and/or professional development?
- Benefits to the IPA & Section UK?
Applicants must be a Section UK IPA member and the Lincoln Award cannot be used for attendance at Gimborn Seminars (see separate bursaries available). The award must be used in 2021. Payment of the award will be made upon the applicants' completion/attendance on the course/seminar and upon completion of an article (with photos) for use in IPA Section UK publications and social media. Any questions please contact VP Turner via email.
The process for the next round of applications (Jan - June 2021) will be announced in due course.
Yours in friendship,
Martin
Vice President (Professional) IPA Section UK NEC
